Shannon Bates to Moderate Presentations at AIPLA’s (Virtual) Spring Meeting

Harper & Bates partner Shannon Bates will participate in the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s (AIPLA’s) annual spring meeting, which has gone virtual for the first time this year due to COVID-19.

Bates will moderate two CLE presentations on the afternoon of Friday, May 15th, which is the last day of the two-week virtual meeting.

First, she will moderate a presentation summarizing the current landscape in intellectual property as we hit the midway point of the year. This discussion will cover new case law in trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights and patents, with each area of the law being presented by a different speaker.

The second session, Balancing Fixed Fee, Contingency, and Hourly Arrangements to Ensure Quality and Efficiency and Still Meet Your Ethical Duties, will discuss how law firms can be stewards of their client’s money, while also being as efficient as possible with their time to ensure profitability.
