Biography

Scott Harper is a registered patent attorney who concentrates his practice on patent, trademark, and copyright matters. He also represents clients in litigating complex intellectual property disputes involving patents, trademarks and copyrights in federal and state courts across the country, as well as managing patent post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Scott’s experience covers a wide range of technology disciplines including fiber optics, computer hardware and peripherals, software and information technology, medical devices, athletic goods, product packaging, hydraulic filtration, and oil and gas drilling equipment. He has prepared and prosecuted domestic and foreign patent applications and rendered legal opinions on related patentability, validity, and infringement issues related to these diverse technology fields. In the realm of intellectual property licensing, he has managed intellectual property license audits and due diligence reviews for Fortune 100 companies and negotiated strategic intellectual property licenses for a variety of technologies both domestically and abroad, including Canada, South America, Europe and the Middle East.
